In this class we will focus on core strength and stability. We will strengthen the core from the inside out, working with the deep muscles first before moving toward the surface. In this Yoga Class for families with kids age 7-12 we will explore yoga through physical postures, games, stories and meditation. This class is a fun inspiring way to to stretch and strengthen our bodies, to calm and focus our minds, to inspire our imaginations and cultivate positive, supportive connections as families and in community. Stretch and Fly Yoga Dance

Stretch and Fly Yoga Dance is a unique empowering movement practice that combines simple dance moves and yoga. Experience original choreography that blends flowing movement and dynamic stillness. Each Stretch and Fly Yoga Dance routine has a theme intended to evoke various expressions of our human experience. Some of these routines include: the Dance of the Warrior, Dance of the Chakras, Dance of Radiant Light and Dance of Release.

Yoga Nidra

Ready for a deeper dive into the healing practice of yoga nidra? Each session in this 4 week series will include: a short discussion on the philosophy and benefits of yoga nidra, some gentle movement and breath awareness exercises to help with the transition to the meditative state, and unique guided meditation practices. Each yoga nidra experience will be designed to successively build on the previous one and will include the opportunity to personalize your practice so that it better meets each individual’s needs. Dance for Joy with Zumba
1 hour with Daniela Sosa-Masuda
Combining dynamic moves with energizing music, Zumba is dance fitness that takes the “work” out of workout. A specially curated playlist of uplifting world music and recognizable favorites creates a celebratory atmosphere. Choreography is simple, and moderately paced for ease of learning and execution. Experience dance fitness in a supportive, nonjudgmental space, where presence is prioritized over perfection. Escape the demands of daily life, reduce stress, elevate mood, and “…dance like no one is watching!” No dance experience needed. All are encouraged to participate at their individual comfort level. PLEASE NOTE: No street shoes allowed on the studio floor. Flat dance shoes or indoor-only athletic shoes, and bare feet permitted.

Rest and Restore

This class uses gentle movement in familiar poses to warm the body before entering lengthened stays (3-5 minutes each). The body may be supported by yoga props, allowing for deeper relaxation. A strong emphasis is placed on the connection between the body and the breath, increasing the benefits of practice.

Meditation is the perfect way to start your day, it centers us, calms the activity of the mind, sets the tone and intention for how we interact with the world and with ourselves. We will begin with 10 minutes of seated meditation, then enjoy 10 minutes of walking meditation, and end with 10 minutes of sitting meditation. No experience necessary, all are welcome, donations appreciated.

Yoga 101: A Beginner's Series

In spite of what you might see in magazines or on television, you don't have to tie yourself into a knot or look great in a leotard to benefit from yoga. "Stretch" yourself and try Viniyoga - a dynamic, breath-centered style that adapts movements to each individual student. In this 6-week series, we will cover the basics of Viniyoga and the movement/breath connection that makes this style of yoga so healing and unique. Throughout the series you will receive step-by-step guidance on the most common postures used in Whole Life Yoga drop-in classes, and instruction on how to modify those postures to suit your needs. This is a perfect series for beginners or students who want to revisit the fundamentals of form and intention in basic postures. Series includes simple practices you can do at home.
