Summer Cool Down with Sound Healing and Meditation

In this workshop we will balance out the fiery energy of summer with a soothing relaxation focused practice. 60 minutes of asana, breath, and meditation designed to cool and calm the system and prepare for 30 minutes of healing vibrations with the bowls! Tibetan Singing Bowls have been used for centuries for healing and meditation purposes.They create a range of sounds to restore the normal vibratory frequencies of out-of-harmony parts of the body, mind and soul. Yoga for chronic conditions
1 hour and 15 minutes with Sarah Mercier
This class is designed to help reduce stress and discomfort physically and emotionally for individuals living with a Chronic Condition of any kind, from headaches, to back pain to Chronic diseases. We will meet you where you are on any given day and focus on your abilities while working towards strengthening areas of weakness through the emphasis of the breath and gentle movement. Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes early if you would like the Instructor to know more about what your needs and limitations are, so the class can be more tailored to each individual. This allows us to begin on time and also set you up with any needed props ahead of time. We will work on a combination of gentle movements, breath awareness, mindfulness and meditation. A few things to note about this particular class: Poses can be done from a chair, if the floor isn't accessible to you. Please be aware that people with Chronic Conditions frequently have scent sensitivities. Please do not wear scented perfume/cologne or lotion. All levels are welcome to attend!

In this class we will focus on core strength and stability. We will strengthen the core from the inside out, working with the deep muscles first before moving toward the surface. Core work provides the opportunity to relate to ourselves in a foundational way, finding a balance of effort and release.
